Dorian Wood. Born in 1949 he fiirst became interested in politics aged 8 when the gift of a crystal set wireles enabled him to listen to the BBC Home Service. He joined Youg Conservatives aged 14 a fact that seemed to interest academics at Leicester University where he went to read history in 1967 amid the year of student protests. Filmed officially as a blackleg strike-breaker he graduated in 1970 and taught in  England and later an international school in Kuwait and latterly a boarding school in Somerset. Dorian has mixed schoolmastering with businesses in the housing and textiles sectors and in the 1980's and early 90's was chairman of Castle Cary Conservatives. Latterly retired he is a constant complainant to the BBC, local and national government and a regular letter-writer to the Telegraph. He is married to his long-suffering wife Anne who shares his political outlook but not his tiring obsession with it.

In 1871 all members of the Zoll Union became provinces of the Empire, with the exception of Luxembourg whose ruling Duke opted out. Bismarck introduced reforms such as health insurance, but mainly ...

Climate (sic) "Science" Mythology and an Historical Perspective.

One of the few benefits of being old is a weary perspective - that our untameable climate has caused self-acclaimed scientists to be perpetually baffled. When it comes to this force of nature I am firmly encamped with King Canute who, possibly unlike our present king, deserves to be remembered as a debunker of baloney. Growing up in the 60's, and f...
