SOCIALISM FOR THE WEALTHY

The Labour Party of today came into being as we know it around 1900. Its roots lie in the trade union movement of the 19th century and thanks to such people as Keir Hardy the Labour Party was formed. However, there is an irony in the fact that over a hundred years later, the only people who can afford to vote for the party that was formed to represent the poor and working classes - are the wealthy.

In a short time from now, on the 4th July, the country will go to the polls and by the look of things millions of ordinary people, many on low to middle incomes, will vote Labour on the basis the country needs a change, which in reality is the only thing anyone can be certain of as far as what Keir Starmer and his hard left party have planned for us. Everything else in the Labour manifesto is vague and much of what they are offering to the electorate is a mystery. Peter Hitchens, Kelvin MacKenzie and some others have warned about Gordon Brown's plans, lurking in the dark recesses of Labour's intentions, they warn that Keir Starmer and his comrades plan to undermine the power of Parliament in order to create a Labour Party dictatorship.

Little is known about Labour's tax plans, there are mumblings that pensions will be hit - don't forget it was Labour, with Gordon Brown as Chancellor, who was the first to raid pensions, will they be coming for what is left?

Then there is hitting motorists, especially those who drive perfectly good older cars. We all know the monster raving Green's would have a holocaust of private cars and transport restricting freedom of movement, but just take a look at how Labour have hit the poorest with their London ULEZ and other alleged clean air zones around the country, only the better off can now afford to drive in these places.

I long ago came to the conclusion that only the rich and wealthy can afford to vote Labour. My lifelong experience of all Labour Governments are that while the lower paid and those on middle incomes get hit in every direction with Socialist taxes and other costly and job destroying plans, the wealthy with their clever accountants and legal teams are the ones who can avoid being hit by Labour's attack on our finances. Or, at the worst, as we saw in the 1960's the rich can simply afford to quit the country and they and their wealth can afford to flee and live in parts of the world where they and their money are made welcome - the rest of us will be left to pick up the Labour spending tab and will have our already meagre living standards reduced even more.

There are those who embraced socialism and thanks to climbing the Labour Party greasy pole have done very nicely, thank you. Keir Starmer pretends to be a man of the people claiming to have come from a poor background, however, if he really wanted to know what poor was when living with his parents in their neat semi detached home, he should have experienced growing up in the back street slums of Birmingham where I spent the first seven years of my life until my parents bought their first home, which to me was like a palace with a garden, ironically a semi detached house just like that owned by Starmer's parents. Starmer now lives in what can only be described a very expensive London Home and, according to Tatler, is now a multi million pound land owner.

However, the one who takes the biscuit for being a hypocritical multi-millionaire Socialist is Tony Blair, who did so much damage to the UK during his reign in No10 Downing Street, I often wonder if the nation can ever recover from the wrecking spree that man did wreaked on British Isles. By allowing and supporting devolution in order to help create an EU of the regions, Blair created a divided nation, he ensured those who wanted to study at universities are now left with a lifetime of debt, his government also raided the pensions of many ordinary working people. While building his own wealth his Socialism was making the people of Britain poorer. Young people now have so much debt thanks to what the past Labour administration did they can't afford to buy their own homes.

As a warning to anyone considering voting Labour on the vague promise of some unknown 'change', ask yourself, am I wealthy enough to vote Labour?
