In the summer we had relatives visiting from Kyrgyzstan They wanted to see England, but also the Continent. We took them to Germany and Belgium. In Germany we stayed in a four star hotel I had enjoyed when I lived there. It's old and has a wonderful kitchen. It did not have a phone in the room. "Everyone uses mobiles these days", I was told. Even if true, there was no list of numbers to call. To make matters worse, the floor staff could not speak German or English. In an emergency, a crash course in Romanian would not have been an option. The no phone policy was confirmed during our short tour of England. One hotel had a helpful notice. 'For help dial (mobile number) and please use our free WiFi. Attempting to connect the first screen said 'Log into your Google Account'. So there you have it. Learn Romanian and sign up to Google. Alternatively, set off the fire alarm, that ought to get attention.
Wes Streeting is going to save us all by digitising the NHS. Odd, I thought they'd done that. At least the GPs hiding behind eConsult have. I have a blood disorder that requires monitoring by the Haematology department of a hospital. Four times a year, amongst other things, my blood is tested for 36 different elements. I offered to give my local surgery access to those results online, but that was a digital step too far for them. At regular intervals they demand I have blood tests to monitor my use of blood thinners. Regularly I respond, "I send you my test results if they are insufficient please tell me what else is needed". I never have a reply. The other day the blood test request was accompanied by a threat to discontinue my medication unless I comply.
Putting my life at risk because they cannot answer a simple question seemed a step too far. I decided to complain. GP surgeries have their own complaints procedure and that's the only avenue one can use. These procedures are used by organisations like the BBC to ensure that no complaint is ever upheld that will dent their self esteem. Of course, this nonsense will take a huge amount of time. In the end I will register with a different surgery in the hope they are not trainee Daleks. Those of us who remember Filofax, Biros and people who answered telephones should be compensated for DWS (Digital Waste Syndrome). Life was so much easier when humans were in charge.
The rather strange spectacle of the Conservative Party fiddling while the Country burns, rolls on like a tired TV soap. The One Nation TRG group announced on October 10th that it would not support either remaining candidate because ".............Both have used rhetoric and focused on issues which are far and away from the Party at its best, let alone the One Nation values we cherish and uphold. Therefore, the Board of the TRG has unanimously concluded that we are unable to endorse either candidate".
The one Nation Wets have destroyed Conservatism. They got rid of Maggie Thatcher when she woke up to the EU's real intent. They have infiltrated the party and its machine to the extent that it is now pink, a doppelganger of the LibDems. Their claim that they represent the wishes of the majority is absurd. They represent the values of a Metro Elite united only by their love of the EU and detestation of the majority of Britons. They hide their Fascist instincts behind labels such as 'Progressive'. Class, Race and Biology are their chosen weapons used to enforce the Orwellian future they desire.

The Conservative parliamentary party and Central office is controlled by the One Nation Wets. Whatever you now think or promise is irrelevant because they will sabotage your efforts. LibDem Cameron did an excellent job of making sure the Tory party could never, ever become its true Thatcherite self again. In reality, today's party resembles the Liberals under Gladstone. A tent inhabited by such differing tribes that it allowed the rise of militant socialism and died after thirty odd years. The country does not have time for a repeat of the Liberal Tragicomedy. It really is time for conservatives to stop pretending. Since Thatcher we have been ruled by an incompetent UniParty. We deserve better.
